I've just heard on the radio that one of the questions Putin is to be asked on his internet chat today is "about a giant fictional octopus sleeping at the bottom of the sea, and when he'll wake up". The poor BBC presenter seemed very bemused by the fact that more than 13000 Russians want an answer.

As well he might. Why would Putin know?
