Surely. There's not ever going to be enough to make a separate account or RSS feed worthwhile (unless I can find a way of creating a merged RSS feed of twittage plus other stuff), so am now investigating the filtered list aproach. In the meantime, I'm killing my LoudTwitter (I don't trust its configuration, anyway: things beginning "@twitteruser" are not meant to be coming through).
