Wow! After a certain amount of last-minute recruiting, and poking back through emails to track down folk we'd temporarily mislaid, we now have an almost complete complement of torchbearers. I don't have a full list for stewards, and in fact I'm not sure how well the list I have overlaps with Billy's, but we're not hurting there, either.

So today was spent tidying up the lists, having a slight accident with an exploding bottle of Kick, making torch balls (Wednesday evening should see us finished), and sketching out our marching order, before getting home just in time for Doctor Who.

Dagda in a while, I reckon, and then crash. Tomorrow is the first full walkthrough: almost all the performers will be on Calton Hill from noon or so (the procession probably won't leave the acropolis until about one) until about five, followed by which it's off to the Health and Safety briefing in the Bongo Club.

Next week will be almost free of Beltane stress: we may have a practice on Tuesday night if it turns out that something from the walkthrough needs fixing; Wednesday night will be making the last lot of torchballs (we have sealable containers, so if we make too many, they can be kept for later) and Thursday evening will be the last crowd control practice. Friday's free, then there's a final fundraising busk and the seconf chance for the Health and Safety briefing on the Saturday, and Sunday's unusually free (oh, except that we need to spray the clothes we're wearing on the night with fire retardant before 6pm).

Monday? On the Hill for ten or so to help set up, another walkthrough in the afternoon (and probably shepherding the last few lost sheep through Health and Safety), then off to get painted up and return to the Hill for 8.30pm.

Then the procession, a brief play on the Hill, and down to the after-club (with 5am license - but I'll probably have left to watch the sunrise before the end).

Back to work on Wednesday....

Now, have I forgotten anything, I wonder?
