You'll all have seen Google Gulp by now, I guess.

But if you've got a Google window open, step over to http://news.google.co.uk and try searching on anagrams of april or fool(s).

You'll have to trim out the obviously true stories involving people whose names really are Olof or Parli or similar, but there's still a fair few to be going on with....

"Think a DNA scanner embedded in the lip of your bottle reading all 3 gigabytes of your base pair genetic data in a fraction of a second"

It's a Nutrimatic, isn't it?

That, or pretty darn close. Of course, they're a lot smaller than DNA (the person, not the macromolecule) guessed.

Actually, that has me worrying: if the scanner's reading about 3Gb of data in a fraction of a second - call that 10Gb/second, it's going to get hot. Not to mention the potential for (microwave?) radiation emissions....

Re: I'll see you and raise you...

I've got [livejournal.com profile] apod as a feed, even though it breaks my pages sometimes, so I'd seen that, thanks. but it's a nice one.

This, I think, beats it though. It's odd, 'cos I was in the pub with him just the day before, and he seemed okay with the presenece of hi-tech gadgetry then. Right enough, there were some strange glitches with the memory cards for the Palms, but he put that down to the need for an upgrade.

At least I thought he said "upgrade", it might have been "uplift" or even "upload". It was a pretty noisy pub.
