I've not been to The Pond in far too long (new readers start here: not only is the Pond famous for its German beer and its original Space Invaders Machine, but it's got pretty amazing decor, too. Sharks in the gents, parrots in the ladies, and all sorts of wonderful things lurk in the shadows).

Anyway, plan is to be there from about nine-ish tonight, first meeting
tigermoth and
cabalamat and eventually being joined by folk from the Dickies/Oi Polloi/Gin Goblins gig, so if anyone else fancies a drink tonight somewhere slightly unusual?
Did I mention the really nice German beer?
And now, just to add some spurious non-Edinburgh relevance, here's a poll:[Poll #619833]Oh, and there'll be a proper updateeventuallyRealSoonNow, honest...

I find google maps to be a nicer mapping site.

And google local [local.google.co.uk] is also nifty.

And his answer, in the expanded version, was the same as mine.
By the way, I'm just wondering: why/how did you happen to add me to your Friends list?

[No, I was never in IR myself, but Jenny and Tara were]

How have you all been?
There are a few IR regulars on LJ, as it happens. Joe Teller is very active; Kiralee recently got a journal but does very little with it. Cindy Shettle doesn't have a journal, but Joe mentions her frequently.
Let me see...who else has a journal?
Collie Collier is pretty active, I believe, but she's not on my flist any more (she's one of the ones who never friended me back).
Jon Mitzman was quite active for a while, but for various reasons he hasn't made an entry for more than a year. He's still around online, though.
Virgil Greene is quite active, and does a lot of posts, but he doesn't get anywhere near enough comments. And his flist is much smaller than it should be.
Chris Aylott has a journal, but he's another one who hasn't responded to my email - not sure why. He's still updating, though.
I can't think of anyone else who's on LJ, but I'm still in touch with some other former IR contributors: my old friend Lois, Doug Jorenby, Scott Ferrier, and Rich Staats. Some I hear from more often than others, of course.
Joe and I have talked about setting up an IR community, just for old time's sake, but we've never gotten around to it. I don't know if anyone would bother to use it.
